Position: Steve W. Chaddick School Chair of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering
Department: School of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Area of Specialization:
"My field of research is the computer-integrated manufacturing of integrated circuits (IC-CIM), focusing on increasing the efficiency of the microelectronics fabrication process."

Campus/Student Involvement:
"Our Summer Undergraduate Program of Research in Engineering/Science (SURE) has been granted more than $1 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF) since its inception in 1992. Through this program, we annually host about thirty underrepresented minority undergraduate students from all over the country for a summer. During that time, these students perform research at Georgia Tech in the hopes that they will eventually pursue a graduate degree. Ninety percent of students who participate in our program enroll in graduate school. Another Georgia Tech program focusing on minority students is Facilitating Academic Careers in Engineering and Science (FACES), which has received $2.5 million from NSF to double the number of underrepresented Ph.D. recipients produced by Georgia Tech."
