JuSt WonDerINg.!

hey,

my name is Arieyelle O'Neal, I am an upcoming senior(09"), and I attend McGavock High in Nashville, Tn. I am looking to become a engineer at Georgia Tech. I have already started recieving many emails from you all at Georgia Tech.

I have many... MANY family members who are engineers-from civil to computer; some family members who have graduated from Georgia Tech. My 9 & 10th grade year i was on honor roll; for the 11th grade i had straight A's the entire year. I was on the principals' list and student of the month. Also, I was featured in the National Honor Roll Book, and I had one of my poems published in a book called "On My Mind"(my poem Lack of Love). Wellll I just took my ACT for the first time and i made a 22. NOWWWWW didn't study or prepare for the ACT because i wanted to see if i could pass it the first time without any preparation. My main question is to you all is do you think i should take the ACT again(prepare this time) or could I get into Georgia Tech with the ACT score/my acedemic achievements????  thanks!

Re: JuSt WonDerINg.!

Georgia Tech does not set a minimum requirement for SAT/ACT scores.  However, our competitive range is 1260-1410 out of 1600 for SAT and 28-32 for ACT.  We super-score test scores meaning we combine your highest math and highest English/Critical Reading from any test (ACT or SAT) at any seating to come up with you best overall score on the 1600 SAT scale.   We convert the sub-group ACT into an SAT score using a publicly known concordance table.  Since we super-score, it can not hurt a student to take the SAT/ACT more than once since we only look at the best combined score and not each time you took the test.

Along with that, students are in competition with over 10,000 other students for essentially 2,400 spots.  We accept the most competitive students who are competitive in every criteria, GPA, SAT/ACT, Leadership and Activity Record, and Personal Statement.  Being out of competitive ranges in one criteria can affect consideration.
