Transfer from International school
Modified By anonymous on 7/17/2008 7:40:17 PM)

I am in Ontario, Canada right now. Canadian resident with U.S. permanent residency status until 2012. Come this fall will be my "first" year towards a BASc in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering. A final high GPA will be no problem for me but my courses at the end of this 2008-2009 school year (this summer, fall and winter sessions) will include mainly math, physics/mechanics, chemistry (http://www.uottawa.ca/academic/info/regist/calendars/programs/302.html) This is the list of what is required to be awared the degree, along with meeting grade and gpa averages. I will have all the first year courses and will also have history of health care and mechanics of materials (2nd yr courses). How do I know whats what and what will be "transferable course work credit hours". There is no English courses involved, unless you consider "Technical Report Writing" as an English course.

Has Gatech had many student transfer from Ontario, Canada or Canada in general?

Re: Transfer from International school

To have coursework from non-US colleges and universities reviewed for potential transfer credit, a Course-by-Course With GPA evaluation from a professional foreign credential evaluator along with detailed course descriptions must be submitted so that the various academic departments at Georgia Tech can determine whether the coursework corresponds to our curriculum in content and credit value. (See How to Apply for International Transfer Admission (http://www.admiss.gatech.edu/international/transferint.php#apply, Step 4, for how to obtain a Course-by-Course With GPA evaluation.)  Due to the complexity of evaluating non-US institution coursework, students must apply for admission to Tech before any non-US coursework.

Georgia Tech attracts talented students from all over the world.  Our undergraduate student population currently represents students from over 115 different countries.
